Canada Codes provide a cross-reference for comparable industries within the Canadian market and have been added where applicable to Best's Underwriting Reports and Best's Loss Control Reports. The Advanced Search provides options to view an index of Canada Codes and locate reports where the codes are referenced.
Canada Codes were developed by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) for the purpose of the Commercial Liability Statistical Plan for Ontario. They were utilized by the General Insurance Statistical Agency (GISA) until 2022. They are not maintained by IBC and are to be used at your own discretion.
In addition to the NAICS Codes relevant in the US, reports now include NAICS T-codes for the corresponding industries that are comparable across the three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This comparability facilitates international comparisons of economic data.
