About Us

Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC is a general civil litigation firm located in Jackson, Mississippi which is the center of government and business for the State of Mississippi. We are within walking distance of the State Capitol Building, state government offices, and the Mississippi Supreme Court and state trial courts. The firm provides legal representation to clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in Mississippi, the Southeast, and across the country. The firm is dedicated to zealously representing its clients, and we have built our practice on the highest standards of loyalty, integrity, and professionalism.

We analyze the legal and factual issues at the outset of each case in orderto map a strategy for achieving our clients’ objectives. We evaluate each matter in order to dedicate the staff and other resources necessary to efficiently and effectively protect our clients’ interests.

One of the tenets of our philosophy is that the best results are obtained for a client, whether in settlement negotiations or in a courtroom, if the opposing party knows that we are capable of, prepared and willing to aggressively try a case if our client chooses not to settle. To that end, we prepare each case as if it were going to trial. In those cases where it is determined that settlement is appropriate, we have been able to obtain more favorable outcomes for our clients by negotiating from a position of trial readiness.

Successful resolution of complex and catastrophic loss cases in multiple jurisdictions often requires innovative and creative thinking. We possess the experience to assist our clients in developing long-term strategic plans, including far-reaching settlement and trial strategies across jurisdictional boundaries.

We constantly strive to be responsive to our clients’ needs and to give each client individualized attention. We also understand the importance of prompt, comprehensive case evaluation and reporting and candid communications regarding the strengths and weaknesses of our client’s position.

The firm makes effective, cost efficient use of technology. We have state of the art document imaging and management systems which enable us to efficiently manage large volumes of documents in complex litigated matters. In addition, using sophisticated trial presentation software, we can develop audio-visual presentations to effectively present technical, scientific, financial or other information at trial.

The firm’s paralegal and support staff has vast experience in supporting complex litigation matters involving multiple claimants in multiple jurisdictions. We have experience managing cases with large volumes of documents and with extensive discovery, as well as management and maintenance of comprehensive databases pertaining to medical literature, expert witnesses, archived corporate documents and discovery materials.
