A.M. Best is pleased to announce Carlos De la Torre as the new senior director of A.M. Best América Latina in Mexico City. De la Torre will be responsible for managing A.M. Best’s Mexico-based subsidiary and its continued growth throughout Latin America.
De la Torre has more than 15 years of experience working in the insurance and reinsurance markets. He started with Marsh Mexico as a trainee broker in 2003. Two years later, he joined Cooper Gay in London as a broker for its Latin American property and terrorism reinsurance facultative business. De la Torre returned to Mexico in 2010, joining Som.us (formerly Cooper Gay Mexico), where he served as an assistant director and led the company’s facultative property and casualty divisions for Central America, and aviation for Mexico, Central America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean.

De la Torre holds a business management degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and holds a Certified Insurance Professional designation as per the Accounted Chartered Insurance Institute (A.C.I.I.) of London, England.
