FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - SEPTEMBER 03, 2015 10:30 AM (EDT)
In this episode of A.M.BestTV, A.M. Best Vice President Robert DeRose discusses a Best's Special Report on the global reinsurance industry. Click on http://www.ambest.com/v.asp?v=globalre915 to view the video program.

In A.M. Best's annual global reinsurance special report, it states that the reinsurance market is quickly evolving. "One factor that has greatly influenced the market over the past five years has been alternative capacity," said DeRose. "This alternative capacity has caused a seismic shift in the market, which is forcing reinsurers to consider alternatives."

A.M. Best put a negative outlook on the reinsurance sector in August 2014.

"The market has been quite remarkable, driven in large part by the absence of any major catastrophes and despite extraordinary challenges," continued DeRose.
