FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - OCTOBER 15, 2020 02:22 PM (EDT)
AM Best will host a complimentary webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at 2 p.m., (EDT) to examine challenges facing the U.S. multiperil crop insurance market.

Crop insurers recorded their worst results in a decade in 2019, and so far in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic and weather events have globally disrupted the supply chain of agricultural goods and further damaged crop yields. Additionally, trade wars with other countries, along with problems due to heavy rainfall and historic flooding across the Corn Belt, commodity price volatility and labor shortages, were among the challenges in which farmers and multiperil crop insurers had to contend. During the event, AM Best analysts and market experts will review a new AM Best report that discusses these challenges and how insurers are managing the risks in this segment.
