FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - SEPTEMBER 26, 2014 12:46 PM (EDT)
In this episode of A.M.BestTV, leading U.S. regulators at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) conference said they are moving toward a coordinated position as they deal with international insurance regulators. To assist in achieving that goal, the conference focused on ways to coordinate federal and state efforts since this issue has become increasingly significant with regulatory regimes in the Unites States and abroad.

Chuck Chamness, president and chief executive officer at NAMIC, addressed this important matter. "Many other countries have a single national regulator and finance minister with the authority to speak for their government and regulatory system; however, here in the U.S. our regulatory system is definitely more complicated. As such, the attendees were extremely interested in hearing how all the different regulatory systems plan to work together," said Chamness. Chamness believes that this conference was a good start.

Tad Montross, chairman, president and chief executive officer of General Reinsurance Corporation, also appeared in this episode.
