With over 60 countries represented at this year's RIMS conference, the aim is to assist the attendees as they work together to improve their risk management and grow internationally.

Thomas Reagan, cyber risk practice leader at Marsh, sees cyber coverage as an innovative growing industry. "We in the industry expect that over the next 10 years, every company in America will purchase cyber insurance, causing an incredible opportunity for growth," said Reagan.

In addition, according to Jack Kuhn, chief executive officer for Global Insurance at Endurance, although the recent earthquake in Nepal has been devastating for the country, it is not expected to impact the market significantly. "When you consider the loss that is covered by the industry, I don't believe the earthquake will have a major impact on the marketplace. It might slow some of the recent rate reductions, but I don't see it as being a major market changing event."

Other people who appear in this episode include:

  • Rick Roberts, president at RIMS;

  • Jamie Miller, managing director and head of property at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd; and

  • Jim Donelon, insurance commissioner of Louisiana.
