FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - MARCH 02, 2015 11:48 AM (EST)
A.M. Best has released the latest installment of the Insurance Law Podcast, a series that examines timely insurance issues from an attorney's point of view.

This episode features attorney, Ted Schaer from the law firm of Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C. in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Schaer holds three positions at the firm: chief information officer, co-chairman of the casualty defense department and chairman of the cyber liability, privacy and data breach response team. He has tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict and has selected an additional 50 jury panels. A board-certified trial attorney in practice since 1987, Mr. Schaer represents insurance companies and their insureds in general, liquor and professional liability matters, and he counsels companies and their insureds on cyber liability and how to respond to a data breach. Mr. Schaer is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a CIPP/US (certified information privacy professional in the U.S. private sector).

Mr. Schaer begins by discussing when a client should seek advice from cyber counsel. He then points out areas of cyber liability that can affect businesses. Mr. Schaer concludes by explaining what actions companies can take once a data breach has been identified.

Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C. is listed in Best's Directories of Recommended Insurance Attorneys and Adjusters, the most authoritative and detailed reference for locating qualified legal counsel, independent insurance adjusting services and expert service providers since 1928.
