FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - OCTOBER 17, 2014 03:41 PM (EDT)
This A.M.BestTV episode looks at A.M. Best's annual "Insurance Marketing Briefing - Europe," which was held on Oct. 15. At the briefing, leading A.M. Best rating analysts and industry experts discussed the impact of current economic conditions and rating trends for insurers and reinsurers in key segments of the European insurance sector, as well as the London market.

Roger Sellek, chief executive officer, at A.M. Best's London office, addressed what A.M. Best focuses on and how well that focus has served the company. "A.M. Best focuses only on the insurance and reinsurance sectors and because of that has clients in 82 countries, only rating companies that have a close relationship to insurance. However, the challenge for A.M. Best is to continue to develop and expand geographically and through organic growth in the insurance and reinsurance sectors against the backdrop of regulations," commented Sellek.

Stefan Holzberger, managing director, analytics, at A.M. Best Europe - Rating Services Limited, spoke about rating activity, current market conditions in EMEA and what he expects in the near term. "The EMEA markets have balance sheet strengths, which generally leads to very stable ratings. The vast majority of A.M. Best's ratings in India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa have been affirmations of the various companies' ratings with a stable outlook," said Holzberger.

Other A.M. Best analysts that appear in this episode include:
