FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLDWICK - AUGUST 27, 2014 10:55 AM (EDT)
A.M. Best, publisher of Best's Review magazine, has announced the lineup of speakers and sessions for this year's Insurance Marketing & Advertising Summit, set for Thursday, October 30, in Jersey City, N.J. In a video interview with Lori Chordas of Best's Review, featured speaker LeConte ("Count") Moore of broker DeWitt Stern discusses his firm's unusual approach to marketing, including engaging videos and knowledge-based materials aimed in part at the entertainment, arts and events industries. To see the interview and learn more about the conference, visit www.bestreview.com/imas.

In the interview, Moore discusses:

  • Serving the unique needs of video and music production companies: "They have very special needs. They don't want to deal with insurance. They're moving 100 miles an hour. They're using young people and there are a lot of things being blown up and a lot of bling on the set. So you have to be able to work in that environment as compared to the art division, where you're dealing with museums and restorers, conservators and registrars from museums or art galleries."

  • Cutting through the clutter of today's insurance marketing environment: "It's a challenge because there is so much confusion in the industry with who is the broker, who is the insurance company. There are a lot of direct writers, as you know, advertising like crazy ... there are brokers advertising, there are insurance companies advertising. It's one of the biggest challenges we face."

  • The importance of organizational support: "I credit our chairman, Jolyon Stern, whose wife is a Broadway producer and understands a little bit about the world of pizazz and advertising because you have to advertise to get people to come to your show. We're pushing the envelope, and Jolyon was behind that. We recently were on WNYC public radio in New York underwriting some of their programming. We've done lots of mailings. We do hard-copy newsletters. We're out there probably leading most brokerage firms."
