Best’s Rankings: US Property/Casualty 2021 Nine-Month Net Premiums Rise 9.9%
OLDWICK, N.J. //BestWire// - Total U.S. property/casualty net premiums written increased 9.9% in the first nine months of 2021 to $548.04 billion, according to a new 2021 Best’s Ranking report.
The top nine property/casualty writers all grew premium. The No. 1 writer, Berkshire Hathaway Insurance, also posted the strongest increase, growing net premiums written 25.5% to $54.22 billion.
State Farm Group was second, with $52.39 billion in net premiums written, a 4.5% increase. Progressive Insurance Group rounded out the top-three with net premiums written rising 14.4% to $35.86 billion.
No. 8 Chubb INA Group also notched double-digit growth, 11.9%, to $16.53 billion in premiums.
