A.M. Best Comments on Ratings of Humana Inc.

Oldwick //BestWire// - A.M. Best has commented that the under review with positive implications status and the financial strength ratings, issuer credit ratings and issue ratings of Humana Inc. (Humana) (Louisville, KY) and its subsidiaries remain unchanged.
The comment follows Aetna Inc.’s (Aetna) issuance of $13 billion in new debt to fund its acquisition of Humana. The transaction between Humana and Aetna is still pending and is expected to close in the second half of 2016. The ratings of Humana and its subsidiaries will remain under review with positive implications pending the final decision on the transaction.
