A.M. Best to Sponsor PCI Association of America Meeting & Host Session on Benchmarking Analysis Results, Innovation in Insurance

Oldwick //BestWire// - A.M. Best will sponsor the opening reception of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America’s (PCI) Annual Meeting, to be held Oct. 28-30, 2018, at the Fontainebleau in Miami, FL The opening reception will be on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4:30 p.m. (EDT).
A.M. Best also will host a session on Monday, Oct. 29, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT), titled, “Financial Strength Ratings: Benchmarking the P/C Sector and the Need to Be Innovative.” Leading the session will be Stefan Holzberger, chief rating officer, and Greg Williams, senior director.
Nearly a year after updating its Best’s Credit Rating Methodology, A.M. Best will review U.S. property/casualty sector benchmarking results post-implementation. The discussion of benchmarking across the four key building blocks—balance sheet strength, operating performance, business profile and enterprise risk management—will shed light on the scoring of the individual assessments, and will include an examination of the elements that make up each building block.
In addition, the speakers will discuss the importance for companies to develop a culture of innovation to remain competitive in the marketplace, as well as how A.M. Best expects innovation to play a greater role in the assessment of a company’s financial strength.
