A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings of InStil Health Insurance Company

Oldwick //BestWire// - A.M. Best has affirmed the financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and the issuer credit rating of “a-” of InStil Health Insurance Company (InStil) (Columbia, SC). The outlook for each rating is stable. Concurrently, A.M. Best has withdrawn the ratings in response to the company’s request to no longer participate in A.M. Best’s interactive rating process.
The ratings and outlooks are reflective of InStil’s strong risk-adjusted capitalization, history of positive operating performance and effective management of exposures.
A.M. Best remains concerned about the company’s limited business profile. However, management at the parent organization, BlueCross and BlueShield of South Carolina, continues to seek opportunities for growth for this entity.
